Postgraduate in Cannabis, Barcelona pioneer in Spain
Barcelona becomes the first Spanish city to offer a postgraduate course dedicated to cannabis. On 11 November 2022, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) will launch the first edition of the postgraduate degree in Cannabis Production and Processing Technologies.
A project that demonstrates how Barcelona continues to invest in the growth of this industry, not only by allowing the existence of cannabis associations like ours and after having hosted, in 2021, the first European Hub dedicated to cannabis.

In fact, the cannabis postgraduate course is jointly developed by the UPC and the CannabisHubThe idea is to provide a valuable tool for people who want to specialise in cannabis research and production on an industrial level.
The cannabis market, both for recreational and medicinal use, is undergoing a phase of strong expansion: it is estimated that by 2026 the sector could reach a total of 25 billion euros.
This translates into thousands of jobs to be created worldwide, especially in terms of cultivation techniques, scientific research and sales channels.
Professions such as "director of cannabis cultivation and export" or "...".marketing manager for the cannabis sector are some of the professional opportunities that will be the focus of the postgraduate course in cannabis in Barcelona.
What is the cost of the postgraduate course in Cannabis at the UPC in Barcelona?
The course costs €4,300 and will be carried out on a blended learning basis: classes will be held on Fridays from 16:00 to 21:00 and Saturdays from 9:00 to 14:00. The postgraduate course includes 160 teaching hours and 25 ECTS credits. - Information extracted from the UPC website.

As said before, the subjects touch on several topics. "Agricultural Production Technology" but also "Marketing, Digital Transformation and Innovation in the Cannabis Industry" or "Quality Management Systems and Analysis", with a complete approach to the legal cannabis market.
